About The Position

UPMC Home Health is seeking a Director, Regional Home Healthcare Services to provide strategic, hands‑on leadership across a defined region—driving clinical excellence, sustainable growth, and exceptional patient outcomes. In this role, you’ll turn clinical, operational, and financial data into actionable performance improvement plans, ensuring measurable progress in quality, service, compliance, and patient experience. You’ll build and lead a high‑performing regional leadership team, influence through change, and champion process improvements that strengthen care delivery and operational efficiency. This is an opportunity for a proven leader with a strong management foundation and change management expertise to deliver meaningful, positive impact at scale. The Director, will provide strategic leadership, direction, and administration in Western PA for home health or hospice, including private duty and other programs where appropriate. They will have direct responsibility for service line growth and innovation, including the development of new programs and technology and be responsible for high quality outcomes, revenue generation, cost containment, and analytical evaluation of service line performance. The preferred candidate will Interpret policies and regulations for all personnel and ensure compliance; as well as analyze and evaluate professional and related services rendered to improve quality of home care. This position in primarily onsite in Cranberry or West Mifflin, PA and will travel between offices in Cranberry, West Mifflin, Venago County and Erie, PA. Mileage reimbursement is included.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree nursing, health or business administration required.
  • Occupational Therapist (OT) OR Physical Therapist (PT) OR Registered Nurse (RN) OR Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) - (If Speech Language Pathologist, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech language pathology is also required.)
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in health administration, preferably in home health or hospice required.

  • Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and participate in process improvement opportunities within the home health or hospice agency that enhance the quality of the services we provide.
  • Perform duties and job responsibilities in a fashion which coincides with the service management philosophy of the organization towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments within the organization.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships within all levels of UPMC leadership.
  • Develops and holds accountable an effective regional leadership team that manages clinical service, fiscal management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Plans, directs and evaluates the quality assured, clinically excellent, compliant, cost effective, and consumer satisfied operations of UPMCs Regional Home Health or Family Hospice Operations.
  • Ensure delivery of efficient, effective, equitable comprehensive patient care services through appropriate departmentalization and delegation of duties per the approved organizational structure.
  • Provides expert clinical leadership and support that will ensure operations meet program's budget, plans and policies, legal and regulatory requirements for home health or hospice.
  • Thorough knowledge of and strict adherence to UPMCs Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Work collaboratively with IT and staff to maximize efficiency, compliance and clinical documentation requirements for home health/hospice
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations to determine compliance with contracts, third party payer regulations, policies, procedures and customer satisfaction as part of the integrated organizations performance improvement system.
  • Strategically implement home health/hospice specific contracts to meet the organizational standards of patient care while creating clinical and financial efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to develop strategies to meet organizational standards of customer satisfaction, strategic growth, clinical and financial outcomes for the program.
  • Collaboratively work with Human Resources to develop a system to employ qualified personnel meeting home health/hospice standards throughout the service area.
  • Monitor service utilization to ensure delivery of comprehensive/interdisciplinary home health/hospice that follows the service delivery model and staffing needs of the program.
  • Plan, develop, and evaluate Home Health/Hospice Services which includes: Clinical services meet regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze health care data and service trends both internally through the continuum of care and through external market data.
  • Develop clinical products and specialty services based upon best practices and excellence in care, community needs and data. analysis.
  • Assist with developing policies, procedures and protocols for all products and specialty services accomplishing identified outcomes.
  • Evaluate program/service outcomes and staffing models using measurable outcomes and objectives.
  • Seeks opportunities to interact with staff and leaders by maintaining high visibility.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to the organization standards of conduct, policies and procedures.
