About The Position

The Regional Director of Prevention Programs will supervise the Fostering Prevention and Kinship Navigation programs in all assigned FAC branch offices, ensuring the implementation of quality service delivery. This role is responsible for employee satisfaction within the prevention programs and strives to build a sense of team within each department. The Director will conduct regular supervisory meetings, complete employee evaluations, and identify training needs for staff, ensuring they are trained/certified in Motivational Interviewing and Nurturing Parenting. Travel within Kansas, Missouri, and nationally may be required for training and presentations. The position involves making community connections to increase program referrals, composing quarterly newsletters, and contributing to organizational culture, cultural competency, and performance improvement. The Director will analyze data, participate in community networking, and model ethical behavior. This role also involves active participation in agency departments to ensure coordinated efforts in assisting families and maintaining standards. The Director is responsible for program measurement and effectiveness, implementing continuous quality improvement, and participating in client audit reviews. Financial management includes overseeing budget performance, managing within approved budgets, reporting progress, completing month-end reports, and assisting with grant planning and annual budget planning. Strategic planning involves providing input for short- and long-term planning, evaluation, and positioning within FAC, as well as assisting with the development and implementation of growth strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field
  • Four (4+) years of experience working in non-profit social service agencies
  • Management experience (3+ years preferred)
  • Previous child welfare experience required
  • Three (3) years preferred
  • Previous experience working with at-risk populations
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating efficiencies.
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills
  • Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for relative and kinship families
  • Collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams
  • Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated talent to write clearly and persuasively
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Quickly establish rapport and build trust
  • Core understanding of program development, implementation, and evaluation
  • Flexible and a self-starter; multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Fostering Prevention and Kinship Navigation programs in all assigned FAC branch offices resulting in the implementation of quality service delivery
  • Responsible for employee satisfaction within the prevention programs
  • Strive to build a sense of team within each department
  • Conduct individual supervisory meetings with Program Managers and any direct report Specialists at least bi-monthly with the goal of providing continual support, guidance, and work product evaluation/feedback.
  • Complete timely probationary/annual employee evaluations
  • Responsible for identifying the training needs and professional development needs of staff supervised
  • Ensure staff are trained/certified in Motivational Interviewing
  • Ensure staff are trained/certified in Nurturing Parenting
  • Travel (with or without accommodations) within Kansas, Missouri and/or nationally to attend and/or present in-service training, to conduct program training/presentations
  • Attend trainings, court and meetings as required, and actively participate in all leadership meetings
  • Responsible for making community connections to increase program referrals as assigned (i.e., distribute program brochures, schedule informational meetings, contact media outlets, speak at community presentations, booth exhibits, etc.).
  • Compose and email quarterly newsletters to community partners of program updates
  • Contribute on an organizational level with a focus on agency culture, cultural competency, and performance improvement outcomes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, and assist other program staff as needed
  • Analyze data to identify trends and directions for future systemic advocacy efforts; assist in identifying areas for program growth and expansion
  • When possible, participate in task forces, in-services, trainings, and other community educational networking opportunities to educate others about FAC’s programs and to promote partnerships and sponsorships whenever possible
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times
  • Participate in ongoing meetings/professional memberships and trainings as
  • Participate as an active team member with all agency departments so the agency’s efforts to assist families and maintain licensing/contract/COA standards are coordinated for maximum effectiveness
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of the program, both internal and external
  • Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and service areas in his/her purview, focusing on systems/process improvement and personnel growth
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of service improvement as identified by FAC’s internal PQI process
  • Participate in quarterly client audit reviews; make updates/changes as identified through the PQI process
  • Oversee budget performance for program services to ensure fiscally sound operations that meet budget expectations
  • Manage effectively within approved budget, and report accurately on progress made & challenges encountered to direct supervisor and CFO
