About The Position

The Regional Director of Prevention Programs will provide administrative leadership and management for the Fostering Prevention and Kinship Navigation programs across assigned FAC branch offices. This role is responsible for ensuring quality service delivery, employee satisfaction, and fostering a sense of teamwork. The Director will conduct regular supervisory meetings, complete employee evaluations, and identify training needs for staff, including certifications in Motivational Interviewing and Nurturing Parenting. This position requires travel within Kansas, Missouri, and nationally for training and presentations, as well as active participation in leadership and community meetings. The role involves making community connections to increase program referrals, contributing to organizational culture and performance improvement, analyzing data for advocacy, and promoting partnerships. The Director will model ethical behavior, participate in professional development, and collaborate with agency departments to ensure coordinated efforts and compliance with standards. Additionally, the role oversees program measurement and effectiveness, leads continuous quality improvement processes, participates in client audit reviews, and manages budget performance to ensure fiscally sound operations. The Director will also provide input into strategic planning and assist with the development and implementation of growth strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related human services field
Four (4+) years of experience working in non-profit social service agencies
Three (3+) years of management experience
Previous child welfare experience required
Previous experience working with at-risk populations
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and proposing new ways of creating efficiencies.
Outstanding organizational and planning skills
Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for relative and kinship families
Collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams
Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated talent to write clearly and persuasively
Demonstrated leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Quickly establish rapport and build trust
Core understanding of program development, implementation, and evaluation
Flexible and a self-starter; multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines.
Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions
Adaptability to shift styles to fit needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree preferred
Three (3) years preferred experience in child welfare
Personal experience or connection to relative and kinship families is preferred

Responsibilities

Supervise the Fostering Prevention and Kinship Navigation programs in all assigned FAC branch offices resulting in the implementation of quality service delivery
Responsible for employee satisfaction within the prevention programs
Strive to build a sense of team within each department
Conduct individual supervisory meetings with Program Managers and any direct report Specialists at least bi-monthly with the goal of providing continual support, guidance, and work product evaluation/feedback.
Complete timely probationary/annual employee evaluations
Responsible for identifying the training needs and professional development needs of staff supervised
Ensure staff are trained/certified in Motivational Interviewing
Ensure staff are trained/certified in Nurturing Parenting
Travel (with or without accommodations) within Kansas, Missouri and/or nationally to attend and/or present in-service training, to conduct program training/presentations
Attend trainings, court and meetings as required, and actively participate in all leadership meetings
Responsible for making community connections to increase program referrals as assigned (i.e., distribute program brochures, schedule informational meetings, contact media outlets, speak at community presentations, booth exhibits, etc.). Compose and email quarterly newsletters to community partners of program updates
Contribute on an organizational level with a focus on agency culture, cultural competency, and performance improvement outcomes. Participate in staff meetings, and assist other program staff as needed
Analyze data to identify trends and directions for future systemic advocacy efforts; assist in identifying areas for program growth and expansion
When possible, participate in task forces, in-services, trainings, and other community educational networking opportunities to educate others about FAC’s programs and to promote partnerships and sponsorships whenever possible
Model ethical and professional behavior at all times
Participate in ongoing meetings/professional memberships and trainings as required
Participate as an active team member with all agency departments so the agency’s efforts to assist families and maintain licensing/contract/COA standards are coordinated for maximum effectiveness
Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of the program, both internal and external
Implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and service areas in his/her purview, focusing on systems/process improvement and personnel growth
Participate in the evaluation and implementation of service improvement as identified by FAC’s internal PQI process
Participate in quarterly client audit reviews; make updates/changes as identified through the PQI process
Oversee budget performance for program services to ensure fiscally sound operations that meet budget expectations
Manage effectively within approved budget, and report accurately on progress made & challenges encountered to direct supervisor and CFO
Complete month-end reports, as required
Assist with grant planning, tracking and execution, as required
Participate in annual budget planning process in conjunction with the CFO and COO, as needed
Provide vital input in short- and long-term strategic and operational planning, evaluation and positioning within FAC
Assist with the agenda and development of growth strategies for FAC
