About The Position

As a Regional Director of Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) at Community Health Systems (CHS), you will play a vital role in supporting the organization's purpose of helping people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare. This role drives corporate goals and enterprise vision set by senior leadership, providing executive leadership and shaping the strategic direction for healthcare technology management programs across the organization. You will govern high-level KPIs, OKRs, and enterprise asset management analytics, and be directly accountable for aligning technology strategy with clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory priorities. The goal is to maximize return on investment, mitigate risk, and ensure optimized capital lifecycle management for all medical equipment assets. You will lead and transform team members, driving organizational standardization, portfolio optimization, and long-term asset strategy across the enterprise. Frequent regional travel is a mandatory core requirement of this role, accounting for up to 50% of working time during key strategic initiatives, regional rollouts, and peak operational phases.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field; or Military service with an electronics or technical equipment specialty alongside 10 years of relevant leadership experience; or A combination of education and 15 years of relevant experience (considered in lieu of a formal degree).
7–9 years of progressive healthcare technology management (or related field) experience required.
3–5 years of supervisory or leadership experience directly overseeing technical staff required.
Candidates should anticipate up to 50% travel during key strategic initiatives, regional rollouts, and peak operational phases.
Proven ability to drive large-scale organizational change, guide team transformations, and lead high-impact operational initiatives across complex healthcare networks.
Expertise in Healthcare Technology Management (HTM), asset lifecycle modeling, program governance, technology replacement strategies, and medical device portfolio optimization.
Exceptional ability to build strong relationships across all levels, translating complex technical, financial, and risk data into clear, persuasive insights for executive leaders and board members.
Proven success in managing multi-million dollar operational budgets and capital plans, with a knack for smart vendor negotiations, sharp ROI modeling, and finding creative ways to stretch resources further.
Thorough understanding of healthcare compliance (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC, state, and local standards) with direct responsibility for ensuring full program regulatory readiness.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direct oversight to program managers, supervisors, and specialized technical staff.
Foster high-performing teams, drive succession planning, promote continuous professional development, and cultivate a culture of operational excellence.
Serve as the primary HTM liaison to executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders to optimize capital expenditure and supply chain integration.
Lead multi-year capital replacement planning, technology roadmapping, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and strategic asset disposition.
Drive data-driven initiatives for equipment standardization, service contract optimization, and portfolio-wide cost reduction.
Lead the execution of HTM corporate strategy across all regional facilities, ensuring HTM initiatives directly support broader health system financial, clinical, and growth objectives.
Align technology investments with health system financial and clinical goals by driving equipment platform harmonization, service contract optimization, vendor performance management, and data-driven cost reduction.
Direct enterprise-wide compliance with all healthcare regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC, State, and Local).
Establish robust data governance frameworks, medical device cybersecurity protocols, and proactive risk management strategies across the entire technology portfolio to safeguard operations and mitigate organizational risk.
