About The Position

ContourGlobal, a KKR company, is an established Independent Power Producer (IPP) focused on developing, acquiring, and operating electricity generation and storage assets across Europe, North and South America, with a presence in Africa and Asia. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of corporate communications and media relations experience, either inhouse or at an agency, with demonstrated exposure to the energy and/or infrastructure sector.
  • Proven energy media relations experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to develop compelling corporate and institutional narratives for executives, media, regulators, and investors.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. energy landscape, including renewables, BESS, natural gas, PPAs, permitting, and the stakeholder environment at the federal, state, and county levels.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and geographies and manage relationships with partners, vendors, government authorities, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to operate effectively within a lean, agile, and globally distributed team.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
  • Availability for frequent travel across the United States to project sites, stakeholder meetings, and industry events.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience with financial media.
  • Experience in data centers or digital infrastructure, including working with developers, hyperscalers, colocation operators, or infrastructure investors.
  • Knowledge of Spanish to support coordination across ContourGlobal’s broader Americas footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the global communication strategy in support of the U.S. business, ensuring consistency with ContourGlobal's brand purpose, narrative, and tone of voice.
  • Support business development and project communications across the full lifecycle: early-stage development, permitting, groundbreaking, construction milestones, ribbon cuttings, and operations.
  • Supporting / Leading media relations activities in the U.S. with a corporate-institutional focus, including press releases, media inquiries, executive interviews, and reactive/crisis communications.
  • Partner with the Global Communications Team — Brand, Digital & Content Strategy, and Change & Internal Communications — to ensure global-local alignment and amplification of U.S. milestones across owned, earned, and social channels.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders including Project Managers, Business Developers, and Commercial experts to manage relations with county, state, and federal stakeholders, to generate opportunities to raise awareness of the company and represent ContourGlobal at local public meetings, hearings or forums as needed.
  • Contribute to ContourGlobal's positioning in the AI–Power nexus, supporting the brand awareness as a Data Center Ready.
  • Anticipate and manage reputational risks linked to public acceptance of energy infrastructure (grid stress, land use, water, environmental impact), building local credibility for ContourGlobal’s and trust with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support executive positioning of the Head of United States and other senior leaders, including thought-leadership content, speaking opportunities, and Tier-1 media engagements.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers (PR agencies, content providers, event vendors) as part of the streamlined operating model, ensuring efficient delivery within the Comms and BD project budgets.
  • Contribute to KPI tracking on U.S. activities: media mentions, CEO Tier-1 interviews, LinkedIn engagement, landing page performance, and spontaneous brand association with the data center industry.
