About The Position

The PFA is seeking a regionally based coach developer to join their existing team of 15 throughout the professional game. This role requires regular travel to clubs predominantly in the Midlands region. The PFA offers flexibility regarding the 'home' office location, with offices in Manchester and London. This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance in the office for team meetings and projects, alongside remote/home working. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of coach development in the UK, and be an inspirational communicator capable of sharing advanced technical/tactical ideas with current and former professional players.

Requirements

High level communication skills, ranging from 1:1 situations through to presenting to large groups.
Demonstrate a patient and considered approach to all candidates attending our courses.
IT proficient and current.
Strong presentation skills in both developing content and delivery.
Capable of working alone, with discipline, and managing your time effectively.
Actively contributing to a dynamic and experienced PFA team ethic when required.
Being able to hold and defend an opinion in a controlled and intelligent manner.
Capable of producing written reports on your work to senior PFA staff members upon request.
Ability to work collaboratively across all PFA departments and key stakeholders as required.
Approachable and low-ego personality.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Hold a current UEFA A Licence (preferred).
Preferably hold a current FA Licenced Tutor Status to UEFA C Award.
Knowledge and working experience of the English professional game.
Knowledge and experience of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
Knowledge and experience of working with elite players, particularly within an academy setting, both practically and within the classroom.
Knowledge and experience of current coach development methodology, in particular the multi-disciplinary approach.
Clean full UK Driving Licence.
Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

Deliver the FA UEFA C award to an allocated group of professional clubs or be prepared to accept training and work towards this licenced tutor status.
Provide mentoring and support to all course candidates as required.
Maintain all relevant CPD for both coaching awards and FA Licenced tutor status.
Participate in the PFA Coach Development Department’s Internal Verification and sampling process on an ongoing basis to help maintain standards and consistency.
Attend PFA Coach Development Department staff meetings as requested.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic records of course delivery and member interactions.
Maintain a working knowledge of current issues/trends within professional football through active study.
Work evenings and weekends to support members needs as required (this may include overnight stays).
Hold UEFA B Licence tutor status and deliver the UEFA B Licence award regionally to both current and former PFA members (ex-professional players), and fully support all candidates.
Hold UEFA A Licence tutor status and deliver the national UEFA A Licence award alongside FA staff members.
Ongoing collaboration with other PFA departments to ensure a more integrated approach.
