About The Position

Summerford Truck Line is a family-owned flatbed company based in Ashford, Alabama, with over 98 years and four generations in the business. We’ve grown into a nationally recognized carrier, but we still run on small-company values: safety, respect, and doing things the right way. This position is for a Regional Class A CDL Flatbed Driver (Company W2). The freight is primarily flatbed, with a 50% drop & hook / 50% live load–unload. Typical weekly miles range from 2,500–3,000. Drivers are guaranteed home every weekend and will primarily operate in Southeast and surrounding regional markets. Drivers can expect to earn an average of $1,300–$1,500 weekly, with a guaranteed weekly minimum for regional drivers. New drivers can earn $80,000+ in their first year. Pay increases with tenure and experience, and there are performance-based pay schedules, safety and performance incentives, and additional pay for short-haul loads, detention, and layover when applicable. Trucks are mostly automatic transmission and equipped with refrigerators, satellite radio, and APUs. There are no driver-facing cameras.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL.
At least 24 months of recent tractor-trailer experience.
Generally clean MVR: no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
Strong safety record and professional attitude.
Willingness to handle tarping.

Responsibilities
