About The Position
SmallHD designs and manufactures cutting-edge display products for both the independent filmmaker and cinema industry. Our monitors are being used worldwide to consistently provide creative professionals with real-time confidence in their image. SmallHD products are known for their durability, premium display quality, and incredible user interface. The technician plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency by returning products to service-ready condition through structured refurbishment and quality verification processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical and/or technical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and ability to interpret technical documentation
- Effective time management and ability to maintain productivity while performing detail-oriented work for extended periods
- Clear communication and team collaboration skills
- Proficiency or willingness to learn relevant software tools including xTuple ERP (to be replaced with Salesforce soon), Zendesk/Salesforce, FedEx ShipManager/UPS WorldShip/ShipStation, Shopify, Smartsheet, and Google Workspace
Nice To Haves
- Prior inventory management experience is a plus
- Passion for the entertainment or broadcast industry is a plus
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and evaluate returned or used equipment to determine repair and refurbishment requirements
- Perform repairs, part replacements, cleaning, and restoration according to established procedures, using appropriate tools and safety practices
- Test refurbished equipment to verify functionality, performance, and quality standards, documenting findings and identifying root causes of recurring failures
- Maintain accurate service records, parts usage logs, and inventory tracking; report shortages and communicate findings to supervisors and cross-functional teams
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on product reliability, contributing to process development, and participating in quality audits
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in a clean, organized, and safety-compliant condition
