About The Position

Under the direction of the Refugee Ministry Director, this role provides administrative support to the implementation of key methods, best practices, policies, and procedures of the Northwest Community Center. The assistant will help with the day-to-day operations, including purchasing supplies and managing the supplies budget. They will greet and provide direction to refugees or their advocates, offer referrals, and respond to correspondence. This role also involves assisting in the implementation of plans for events, meetings, and providing administrative support for large outreach events. Additionally, the assistant will help with planning and preparing for volunteer training and recruitment, maintaining a refugee resource distribution database, updating metrics for ministry reporting, and coordinating printed and mailed materials. Other duties as required will also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Strong propensity for database and reporting functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle conflict with conviction and love.
  • 1-3 years administrative experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the implementation of key methods, best practices, policies and procedures of the Northwest Community Center.
  • Assist in day-to-day operation of the Northwest Community Center, including purchasing supplies and managing the supplies budget.
  • Greet and provide direction to refugees or their advocates; providing referrals, responding to correspondence as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of plans for both weekly/recurring and major/seasonal events, meetings, etc.
  • Provide additional administrative support to the Outreach Ministry for large events such as the annual Fall Fun Fest, World Passion Week and Vickery Mission Trip.
  • Assist in planning and preparation for volunteer training and recruitment.
  • Maintain refugee resource distribution database.
  • Update metrics and outcomes for monthly ministry reporting.
  • Assist in coordinating all printed and mailed materials.
  • Assist with other duties, as required.
