As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Refrigeration Technician to join our team! The Refrigeration Technician will be a knowledgeable and skilled technician capable of providing a full range of installation, repair, and upgrade services for refrigeration equipment, walk-in and upright coolers, and open-air cases in commercial settings across our organization. This role has the potential to continually evolve within the department as the maintenance team continues to grow and accept additional responsibilities to support our companies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years commercial refrigeration experience.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • EPA Certification is required.
  • Fluent English-speaking and writing skills are required.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Able to work irregular and extended hours, including an on-call schedule.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
  • Must have positive points on state driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
  • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and problem solve refrigeration equipment to identify issues and determine the best course of action for repairs.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC & refrigeration systems.
  • Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability and safe operating condition.
  • Perform tasks such as refrigerant line brazing, nitrogen sweeping, and evacuation protocols.
  • Erect, seal, and insulate walk-in coolers and freezer boxes.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars as assigned to gather information required to perform or enhance job functions.
  • Prepare written materials (e.g., repair status, activity logs, work orders, etc.) for customers as well as supervisors to document job status.
  • Respond to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
