About The Position

This role involves supervising the Refrigeration Department team, ensuring compliance with safety and production standards, and managing daily operations. The supervisor will be responsible for team development, training, reporting, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. This position requires a strong understanding of ammonia refrigeration systems and management experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years’ Ammonia Refrigeration experience
  • Experience with operating and maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems more than 20,000 pounds of ammonia
  • Minimum five years’ management experience
  • Refrigeration Op II PSM certification

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Refrigeration Department team members (approximately 9).
  • Verify daily payroll time sheets for all employees in the department and all UKG responsibilities for managing time and attendance.
  • Responsible for daily paperwork, such as but not limited to: attendance sheets, vacation requests, disciplinary action forms, and required training.
  • Responsible for training and development of Refrigeration staff.
  • Responsible for team members’ compliance and training to all Safety requirements, specifically Lockout Tagout.
  • Communicate with the Refrigeration Manager regarding any issues that may be detrimental to safety or hinder production.
  • Check and provide weekly reports for Corporate PSM.
  • Be familiar with the various types of machinery in the Refrigeration Department.
  • Provide coverage in the event of the absence of technicians for shifts that need to be covered.
  • Follow up and confirm all assigned PMs are doing correctly and at a timely manner.
  • Comply with all written corporate and plant policies.
  • Ensure plant compliance with food safety and assist in the upkeep of the complex grounds.
  • Maintain the highest possible level of personal hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with plant GMP policies.
  • Follow the written specifications for packaging and labeling of products.
  • Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to the plant manager. Abnormal situations would be: Product tampering, Willful product adulteration, Unauthorized employees in restricted areas, Situation where a belief that product adulteration may be occurring, Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake.
