About The Position

Start your shift on-site in Virginia, where you’ll craft the refrigeration and water subassemblies that power commercial HVAC equipment. You’ll interpret drawings and documentation (prints, diagrams, bills of material, and engineering change notices) to cut, bend, fit, and braze copper tubing. Expect to make clean, reliable joints—copper-to-copper, copper-to-stainless, and copper-to-brass—using an oxy-acetylene setup and silver-bearing filler metals. You’ll regularly handle large-diameter tube work from 2-1/8" to 4"+, holding tight standards for quality and leak-free performance.

Requirements

3+ years of recent commercial or industrial brazing experience (residential-only experience does not qualify).
Proven capability with large-diameter copper beyond residential norms.
Proficiency with oxy-acetylene torches and silver-based brazing alloys.
Ability to interpret drawings in both metric and imperial units.
Solid understanding of heat input control, joint prep, and mixed-metal brazing best practices.
Familiarity with refrigeration or commercial HVAC assemblies and operation.
Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable with hand and power tools.
Quality-first mindset and a strong commitment to safety on the floor.
Must pass a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

Build and install refrigeration and water subassemblies for commercial HVAC systems.
Cut, form, fit, and braze copper tube; install refrigeration components to spec.
Execute copper-to-copper, copper-to-stainless, and copper-to-brass brazes with oxy-acetylene and silver-based alloys.
Braze large-diameter copper piping (typically 2-1/8" to 4"+) while achieving leak-free results.
Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, BOMs, ECNs, diagrams, and detailed work instructions.
