About The Position

CoolSys is hiring a Commercial & Industrial Refrigeration Service Technician to repair, maintain, diagnose, and test refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment. The role includes equipment overhauls, preventative maintenance, general repairs, and work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startup of new installations. The technician must report as scheduled, keep legible records, work independently, and be available for emergency on-call work.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of commercial refrigeration experience.
• Good driving record.
• Ability to work independently.
• Availability for emergency on-call work.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets.
• Familiarity with single systems and rack systems.
• Previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes.

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time as scheduled by the supervisor.
• Repair and overhaul compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices, and similar machinery.
• Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
• Maintain legible corporate and personal records of work history.
• Perform general repairs on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment, including air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machines, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions and operating efficiency.
• Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including startup of new installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
