About The Position

As a Refrigeration Service Technician Apprentice, you'll be learning how to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial ice machines, HVAC equipment, and Refrigeration systems that are installed in supermarkets, convenience stores, and food service establishments. This role involves working in varying environments and requires travel 50% of the time or when required. Compliance with OSHA safety guidelines and protocols is mandatory.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical background preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good driving record and valid State Driver license.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude.
• Ability to perform the job in a safe manner.
• Ability to use laptop and smart phone.

Nice To Haves

• HVAC technical school completion certification preferred but not required.
• Certification from vocational school a PLUS!

Responsibilities

• Learn how to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial ice machines, HVAC equipment, and Refrigeration systems.
• Demonstrate use of power and hand tools.
• Work on all types of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment, including electrical and energy management controllers, with Journeyman or higher lever technician until able to work on this equipment alone.
• Work on roof, outdoors, mechanical rooms, inside supermarkets, walk in coolers, and freezers, through all seasons of the year.
• Completely fill out and submit all job required work orders, forms, and documents.
• Adhere to all customer requirements, consistently log in and out of work order tracking system portals.
• Use laptop and smart phone.
• Travel on occasion, work overtime, holidays, nights and weekends as required by varying jobs and on call schedule.
• Adhere to Hillphoenix safety program, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, office administration, Journeymen, Supervisors, and Managers in person, by phone and through email.
