About The Position

The AMS Group, part of Dover Food Retail, is seeking a Refrigeration Construction Apprentice to learn the installation and renovation of commercial refrigeration systems in supermarkets, convenience stores, and food service establishments. This role involves working in a construction atmosphere, maintaining job cleanliness, roughing-in insulation, demonstrating the use of power tools, completing timecards, and transporting to job sites. The apprentice will work alongside Journeyman or higher-level technicians until proficient in working independently on refrigeration equipment. The position requires the ability to work in various environments including roofs, outdoors, mechanical rooms, inside supermarkets, walk-in coolers, and freezers across all seasons. Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and managers is essential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid State Driver's license.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Good mechanical experience and skills.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and a professional attitude.
• Ability to perform the job in a safe manner.
• Ability to use laptop and smart phone.

Nice To Haves

• One year of construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Learn the installation and renovation of commercial refrigeration systems.
• Work in a construction atmosphere.

• Properly complete timecards.
• Transport to job sites.
• Work on all types of installation of refrigeration equipment with Journeyman or higher lever technician until able to work on this equipment without supervision.
• Work on roofs, outdoors, mechanical rooms, inside supermarkets, walk in coolers, and freezers through all seasons of the year.
• Communicate effectively with team members, Journeymen, Supervisors, and Managers.
• Completely fill out and submit all job required work orders, forms, and documents.
• Adhere to all customer requirements.
• Consistently log in and out of work order tracking system portals.
• Adhere to Hillphoenix safety program, policies, and procedures.
