About The Position

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining refrigeration systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role is based in Seguin, Texas, and is for the second shift. Two positions are available.

The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Saturday and Sunday work is required if needed.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of knowledge or experience with HVAC systems.
• At least 6 months of industrial refrigeration experience.
• Able to climb ladders; reach, lift, and work overhead; and walk, stand, or sit for the duration of the shift.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and very wet to very dry.
• Able to communicate and get along with others.
• Able to work with fragile devices requiring precise attention.
• Able to comply with OSHA standards and follow safety rules.
• Able to move equipment and machinery weighing more than 40 pounds when needed.
• Able to work on and inspect equipment, including bending and turning.
• Able to move freely throughout the plant over and around equipment, people, and obstacles.
• Willing and able to meet the physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Saturday and Sunday availability if needed.
• Rehire candidates must have been separated for at least 90 days; candidates terminated three or more times are not eligible.

• Ammonia refrigeration experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the refrigeration and maintenance supervisor with personnel and equipment.
• Assign refrigeration technicians to equipment during process periods.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and breakdowns.
• Train refrigeration and maintenance technicians on equipment.
• Follow up on parts inventory and outstanding purchase orders.
• Fill in for absenteeism or assist in other areas of the plant.
• Work closely with other maintenance personnel to receive and pass along job information.
• Operate and maintain refrigeration systems while following safety requirements and Tyson policies and procedures.
