About The Position

This position installs commercial and industrial refrigeration systems according to customer specifications, applicable building codes, and proper piping practices. The role supports construction projects by piping cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, completing required electrical wiring, installing pipe hangers, welding and slip-hosing copper pipes, and assisting the foreman. It also involves hanging cooler box coils and installing new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodeling existing systems. Other duties and projects may be assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to wire installations.
• Knowledge of carpentry.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and piping refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, and ability to pipe refrigeration equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints for refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, with good mechanical skills.
• Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety rules.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• EPA Certification (Type II).
• Good driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Five or more years of construction industry experience.
• Hands-on field experience in commercial refrigeration, electrical work, and/or fixtures construction.
• Experience in copper brazing and market remodeling.

Responsibilities

• Install refrigeration systems according to customer specifications, applicable building codes, and proper piping practices.
• Pipe cooler boxes and refrigeration cases, including electrical wiring as required to complete projects.
• Install pipe hangers as directed by the foreman.
• Weld and slip-hose copper pipes.
• Assist the foreman as needed on the job.
• Hang cooler box coils.
• Install new supermarket refrigeration systems or remodel existing supermarket refrigeration systems.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
