About The Position

Axalta is seeking a Refinish Color Shader to work at its facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role works in an automotive paint color laboratory, developing paint color formulas primarily to match car color standards and automotive parts. The Color Shader uses an advanced computerized color matching system alongside visual color skills, weighs and mixes paint, sprays color panels, and adjusts formulas using a spectrophotometer and software. The process is repeated as needed, and color information is entered into a computer color database. The role also maintains the color lab facility and follows site safety policies and administrative guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Color formulation-related experience.
High school or similar professional-level background.
1–3 years of related work experience.
Familiarity with coatings; coating laboratory experience is a plus.
Strong equipment operation ability and simple maintenance ability.
Be adaptable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new technologies and processes.

Responsibilities

Follow all site Safety Policies and Administrative Guidelines.
Work in an automotive paint color laboratory.
Develop paint color formulas primarily to match car color standards and automotive parts.
Use an advanced computerized color matching system and visual color skills.
Use AxCS following Best Practices.
Weigh and mix paint, spray color panels, and adjust formulas using a spectrophotometer and software; repeat the process as needed.
Enter color information into the computer color database.
Maintain the color lab facility.
Share key learnings and knowledge within the team.
