About The Position

AssessMed has been completing independent, unbiased, evidence-based medico-legal evaluations and file reviews for over 30 years. They serve markets including auto insurance, defense and plaintiff tort medicals, Accident Benefits, Catastrophic claims, Life and Health Disability referrals, and cases from HR representatives throughout corporate Canada. AssessMed is a national provider with regional offices across Canada.

Requirements

Relevant post-secondary/community college education
3 years’ experience working in a Client Service or administrative position, ideally within the insurance/health care environment
Comprehensive computer efficiency (MS Office Suite, Internet, Adobe Acrobat, case management software)
Demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills
Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Shows initiative and exhibits excellent judgement
Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy

Nice To Haves

Experience with SmartSimple is an asset
Knowledge of medical terminology is a strong asset

Responsibilities

Book telephone calls and set up conferences and services in SS accordingly, follow up and update the TC services once completed
Process Addendum requests
Manage incoming referral folder for the RC team
Complete conflict checks on all incoming referrals and create medical legal cases/services in SmartSimple for the RC Team
Set up transportation and interpreters for upcoming assessments
Other Administrative tasks as required
