About The Position

The Referral Coordinator Representative is responsible for the total coordination and processing of all patient referrals for specialty services. Adheres to protocols for proper authorization and processing of all outside specialty services and referrals.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
At least one (1) year of related experience.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Outstanding customer service.
Positive approach and enthusiasm.
Must exhibit strong organizational, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and time management.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening.

Nice To Haves

Medical industry related experience preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Responsibilities

Properly develop the operational plan, taking into account transportation logistics.
Update documents comments for each action taken in the corresponding situations.
Respond to questions or concerns in an attentive, friendly, and respectful manner.
Confirm appointments with the patient and external offices, coordinating transportation services if necessary.
Address patient concerns and follows up on requests, problems, and complaints until the situation is resolved.
Ensure that medications, consultations, tests, medical equipment, and other services are transmitted and received within the stipulated timeframe.
Analyze trends in their services or specialty and alert Manager to any relevant issues.
Reviews "New Requests" and, if they do not comply with procedures, processes "Rejections" within the stipulated timeframe. Does not leave "Rejections" pending, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
Ensure compliance with professional standards, relevant legal, regulatory and safety requirements of HIPAA and OSHA.
Adhere and follow set policies, procedures and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
