About The Position

This role is responsible for managing referrals and prior authorizations as required by insurance plans. The specialist will accurately input non-clinical and structured clinical data into the computer database and handle phone calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write well enough to type, edit and proof information on a computer.
  • Computer skills to perform basic arithmetic for preparation of various reports.
  • A complete knowledge of office procedures.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people is essential and normally acquired with six months of office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out the functions of referrals and prior authorizations when it is a requirement of the insurance plan.
  • Accurately enter required information (non-clinical and structured clinical data) into the computer database.
  • Answer phone calls from Physician offices, hospitals and patients using exemplary customer service skills.
