About The Position

This opening is exclusively for enrolled members of the Redding Rancheria Tribe, aged 11-23. Tribal Youth Members have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and career training by working for the Redding Rancheria or one of its economic enterprises. While Tribal Youth employment typically occurs during the summer break, this program is offered year-round with no restrictions on the maximum number of hours they can work. The goal is to empower Tribal Youth by offering diverse and enriching work experiences within Tribal Government, fostering professional growth, skill development, and a deeper understanding of the Tribe's operations to prepare them for a bright and successful future. Three programs currently exist for Redding Rancheria Tribal Youth: Tribal Youth Mentorship Program (Ages 11-20, requires 6-9 hours of job shadowing, $250 stipend awarded after completion), Tribal Youth Employment Program (Ages 14-18 or until high school graduation, regular ongoing work shifts and schedules, receive regular paychecks), and Tribal Member Professional Development Program (Ages 18-23, regular work shifts and schedules available, program lasts up to 12 weeks, receive regular paychecks).
