About The Position

Domtar is seeking a Recycled Fiber Supply Manager for its Kingsport, Tennessee location. This full-time, permanent role provides leadership and management direction for sourcing, forecasting, negotiation, contracting, supplier management, strategic sourcing methodology, vendor performance tracking, supply-agreement reporting, and supplier relationship development. The position supports day-to-day business processes and long-term objectives and reports to the General Manager. The manager leads strategic sourcing of recycled fiber (OCC), manages and develops the supplier portfolio, negotiates and executes supply agreements, monitors market trends, and coordinates with logistics to optimize transportation costs. The role includes supplier travel to maintain relationships and inspect OCC quality, as well as regular market communication to identify opportunities and risks. The successful candidate contributes to the company’s safety culture and drives process improvements and business solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
A minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
Strong written and oral organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and a strong operational focus.
Strong negotiation skills.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Computer literacy, including Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Decision-making skills.
Understanding and experience with financial consequences, including budgeting and forecasting of recycled fiber.
Negotiation experience and experience with pricing strategy.
Ability to inspire confidence and lead teams.
Skill in understanding and developing detailed business plans and objectives, with the ability to see the big picture.
Demonstrated ability to be productive and innovative without direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree with a preferred focus in business or engineering.
At least five years of experience managing recycled fiber supply is preferred.

Responsibilities

Be actively involved in and accountable for the overall success of the safety culture.
Lead the recycled fiber (OCC) strategic sourcing effort, identifying relevant sourcing strategies and procurement processes.
Research, analyze, and monitor buying trends to identify savings opportunities and process improvement recommendations.
Help drive process improvements and present innovative solutions to recurring issues.
Ensure business risk profiles are understood and aligned with sourcing plans.
Manage the existing portfolio of recycled fiber suppliers.
Engage in business development efforts by adding new suppliers.
Negotiate and execute new OCC supply agreements.
Travel to suppliers to build and maintain relationships and inspect OCC quality.
Communicate regularly with buyers and sellers in markets where the company purchases or could purchase, gather a complete view of the market, and report opportunities and risks to the team.
Coordinate with the logistics team to optimize transportation strategies and reduce costs.
