About The Position
Waste Connections is hiring a Recycle Center Sorter at its Integra Recycling Facility in Elkhart, Indiana. The role involves safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials, sorting them onto different conveyor belts, and moving them to appropriate areas. The sorter also helps maintain the recycling area, outdoor yard, baler, and conveyor line, and performs custodial duties as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
Requirements
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds throughout the day.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to remain on your feet for most or all of the shift.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently process incoming recyclable materials.
- Sort recycled material onto different conveyor belts and move it to the appropriate areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the recycling area and outdoor yard.
- Help maintain equipment such as the baler and conveyor line.
- Perform custodial duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
