About The Position

The Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, in collaboration with Deans, Program Chairs, Academic Affairs leadership, and supporting departments, is responsible for coordinating activities related to the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support of full-time and adjunct faculty. Under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, this position implements strategies and processes that support Ivy Tech’s goals for attracting, onboarding, and retaining high-quality faculty. The Coordinator manages key aspects of the faculty’s experience from initial contact through onboarding and provides continued support throughout a faculty member’s career. This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon the availability of future grant funding. The current grant ends June 30, 2027. There is no guarantee of employment beyond this date, although the grant is renewable.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting faculty, staff, or academic programs in an educational or organizational setting preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education preferred.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Possesses experience using technology and applications in online and technology-enhanced learning environments.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and constituencies.
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, take initiative, and produce results with minimal supervision
  • The selected candidate will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check. Any offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory results.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with Academic Affairs leadership, the Vice Chancellor of Ivy+ CareerLink, Human Resources, and other relevant stakeholders to support the recruitment and retention of excellent full-time and adjunct faculty.
  • Assists in processing, reviewing, and maintaining documentation related to faculty teaching credentials.
  • Coordinates and supports faculty onboarding processes.
  • Supports and collaborates with Academic Affairs leadership/Program Chairs to integrate newly hired faculty into the college learning community.
  • Develops, maintains, and manages digital records as required by the campus and Systems Office.
  • Provides support for faculty teaching during evening and weekend hours, as required.
  • Assists in the facilitation and coordination of faculty-led professional development activities.
  • Coordinates with Educational Technology staff to ensure appropriate onboarding and training for the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned.
