About The Position

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as the Recruitment and Outreach Program Manager (Academic Services Program Manager). This position is a critical part of the Office of Academic & Student Affairs (OASA) that supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of the graduate recruitment and admissions processes, including strategies and activities that optimize enrollment for all programs administered through the Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH). The Recruitment and Outreach Program Manager’s primary responsibility is to recruit highly qualified candidates to the ColoradoSPH. This position will work collaboratively with the OASA team, department chairs, and school leadership to manage recruitment and outreach by developing and implementing a yearly recruitment plan with measurable goals, objectives, and recruitment targets, as well as oversee and attend recruitment-related events as a representative of the school. This position will advise and guide faculty and prospective students, problem-solve on admissions-related issues, and serve as the primary contact for all prospective students. Additionally, this position will plan and host prospective student visits, information sessions, Fall visit day, and other recruitment events.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a higher education setting working in the areas of academic affairs, student affairs, and/or student services.
  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship and employment authorization for this position now or in the future.
  • Must be able to travel within the state and to several out-of-state events annually.
  • Must be able to work flexible work schedules to complete event timelines.
  • Must possess and maintain current valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, satisfactory driving record, and personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Must be willing and able to drive own vehicle for work events as needed (state mileage reimbursement available.)
  • Must be able to comfortably lift 25 pounds and perform minimal physical demands.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of the field of public health
  • Knowledge of higher education recruitment, admissions, administration
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively develop reports for faculty and departmental administrators, staff, affiliates, and campus administration.
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a recruitment strategic plan.
  • Serve as main ColoradoSPH representative while managing the planning, implementation, and evaluation for all local, regional, and national recruitment events (Fall Visit Day, prospective student information sessions, open houses, campus tours, etc.).
  • Advise prospective students regarding ColoradoSPH and all programs administered within the school to educate, inform, and discuss options on an individual basis.
  • Create and manage the Student Ambassador Program and student ambassadors.
  • Develop relationships with targeted community college and undergraduate academic advisors, pre-health advisors, and partners for future prospective student recruitment efforts.
  • Manage the development of outreach communications in the SLATE database.
  • Manage the recruitment budget including the pricing, purchasing and reporting for recruitment materials, swag and recruitment events.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs on the creation and implementation of admissions policies, procedures, and applicant communications.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement a communications plan from first lead through matriculation.
  • Assist with SOPHAS, SOPHAS Express, SLATE and CU-SIS processing as needed.
  • Lead the management of the ColoradoSPH admissions email account and answer or distribute inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Support OASA in “all-hands” student engagement activities for prospective and current students to ensure and enhance student engagement and connectivity, including Admitted Student Day, Public Health Forum, convocation, Orientation, etc.
