About The Position

The Driver Recruiter plays a critical role in building and sustaining a high-quality over-the-road flatbed driver workforce by identifying, engaging, and converting qualified driver candidates. This role requires strong communication skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to balance candidate engagement with compliance, safety, and DOT regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of experience in recruiting, sales, telemarketing, or high-volume customer service
  • Prior experience managing high-volume candidate pipelines or prospect outreach
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA hiring requirements, including driver qualification standards
  • Ability to obtain, review, and evaluate Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) reports
  • Comfort navigating applicant tracking systems, phone systems, and recruiting databases
  • Ability to perform effectively under frequent time pressures in a highly interruptive environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and influence candidates by phone and email
  • Consultative selling mindset with the ability to identify needs, present solutions, and close commitments
  • Consistent accuracy when documenting candidate information and reviewing qualification requirements
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving recruiting environment with shifting priorities

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree or higher in business, human resources, or a related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in transportation recruiting or sales
  • Prior experience recruiting or selling within the trucking, logistics, or transportation industry
  • Familiarity with over-the-road flatbed operations, terminology, and driver expectations
  • Advanced understanding of DOT compliance, safety standards, and hiring best practices

Responsibilities

  • Use consultative sales techniques to align driver needs and preferences with available over-the-road flatbed opportunities
  • Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls while maintaining strong conversion rates and timely candidate follow-up
  • Maintain expert-level understanding of hiring areas, compensation structures, equipment specifications, and company policies
  • Guide driver prospects through the full recruitment lifecycle with clear, professional, and consistent communication
  • Overcome objections and negotiate offers to secure driver commitments while meeting company guidelines
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified driver candidates through outbound calling, lead follow-up, and networking
