About The Position

Quartermaster AI builds SmartMast, a distributed open-ocean sensing and compute platform, for defense and commercial maritime customers. We're a fast-growing team solving hard problems at sea — and we're growing our hiring team to match. We're looking for a recruiter to help us hire for roles outside of engineering — including finance, legal, HR, and operations. You'll work directly with the managers hiring for these roles, handling everything from the first conversation with a candidate through a signed offer. This is a good fit for someone with a few years of hiring experience who's comfortable managing their own set of open roles.

Requirements

• A few years of experience hiring for business roles like finance, legal, HR, or operations
• Comfortable managing your own hiring pipeline with limited supervision
• Experience running a consistent, well-organized interview process
• Some experience helping close job offers, not just finding candidates
• Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with managers
• Experience using hiring/tracking software

Nice To Haves

• Startup or fast-growing company experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage the hiring process from start to finish for business-side roles
• Meet with hiring managers to understand what they're looking for and how the hiring process should run
• Reach out to and build relationships with potential candidates, including people not actively job hunting
• Set up consistent interview questions and evaluation criteria so candidates are assessed fairly
• Gather feedback from interviewers and help hiring managers make a decision
• Support offer discussions and help close candidates once a decision is made
• Make sure candidates have a good experience throughout the process
• Keep hiring records organized and up to date
• Work with the rest of the hiring team to keep things consistent across the company
