Recreational Therapy Supervisor - JFK ADATC
About The Position
The Julian F. Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK-ADATC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Recreational Therapy Supervisor to lead and manage our Recreational Therapy Services. This position is responsible for overseeing daily program operations; providing administrative, clinical, and supervisory support to staff, interns, and volunteers; and ensuring effective interdisciplinary collaboration with other clinical departments. The supervisor will also deliver direct recreational therapy services to patients as needed. This role is ideal for a compassionate, organized professional committed to supporting recovery and enhancing patient well-being through evidence-based therapeutic recreation.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice Recreational Therapy by the North Carolina Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure
- Two years of experience as a Recreational Therapist
Nice To Haves
- Considerable knowledge of recreational therapy theory, principles, techniques, and methods as well as their specific implications and applications to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses, with an emphasis on restoring, remediation, or rehabilitating physical and/or mental functioning and independence.
- Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, their implications for recreational therapy services is necessary.
- Ability to accurately administer a variety of assessment tools and to assess clients current functioning levels, develop and evaluate treatment plan, and evaluate progress, as well as to determine needed supports and services.
- Ability to plan, organize, and initiate programs and to supervise and train supportive personnel.
