About The Position
Pleasant View Communities is seeking a part-time Recreational Therapy Assistant, also referred to in the posting as a Healthcare Activities Assistant, to support residents in a 34-bed long-term care unit. The role involves implementing recreational programs and structured activities, monitoring resident needs and preferences, and completing clinical documentation. The assistant also helps prepare activity calendars and supports the supervision and training of activity staff. The stated schedule is 5 p.m.–8 p.m. on one weekday, plus every other weekend from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Pleasant View Communities is a Life Plan Community in Manheim, Pennsylvania, and describes its team as resident-centered and committed to high-quality care and service.
Requirements
- Dementia care experience is required.
- Desire to work with the senior population.
- Strong interpersonal skills and awareness of dignity, respect, compassion, and safety.
Nice To Haves
- College degree or activity-related certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Implement recreational programs.
- Monitor resident needs, preferences, and attendance.
- Complete clinical paperwork, including care plans, assessments, and progress notes.
