Recreational Therapist (CTRS)-PRN
About The Position
Collage Home and Community Rehabilitation Partners is seeking an experienced Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with CTRS designation to provide patient-centered neurological rehabilitation in the The Woodlands, Texas area. This PRN position serves patients for the duration of their stay. The organization treats people with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses in their homes and communities. The therapist works as part of an interdisciplinary team to create and deliver integrated treatment plans in patients’ homes and communities. Treatment uses varied, engaging activities to address functional goals and support durable outcomes. The role includes evaluating and treating patients, providing education, assessing capabilities and barriers, monitoring progress, and helping patients transition to home and community settings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
- CTRS designation.
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience treating neurologically related disorders is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, treat, and educate neurological rehabilitation patients.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate recreation activities, functional leisure skills, and leisure education.
- Assess patients’ capabilities, interests, and barriers.
- Monitor patient progress and recommend program changes or modifications as needed.
- Perform home assessments and assist patients with their transition to home and community.
