Recreational Therapist (CTRS)-PRN
About The Position
Collage Home and Community Rehabilitation Partners is seeking experienced Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to provide patient-centered neurological rehabilitation in patients’ homes and communities in San Antonio, Texas, and surrounding areas. PRN positions are available, with therapists accepting patients for the duration of their stay. The organization treats traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses. Therapists work one-on-one with patients as part of interdisciplinary teams, contributing to integrated treatment plans that are practiced in home and community settings. Treatment uses creative, varied activities to build interest while addressing functional goals, with an evidence-based approach intended to support durable outcomes. Patients may be served at any point on the continuum, from severe brain injury through job readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
- CTRS designation.
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and co-workers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience treating neurologically related disorders is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, treat, and educate neuro-rehabilitation patients.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate recreation activities, functional leisure skills, and leisure education.
- Assess patients’ capabilities, interests, and barriers.
- Monitor patient progress and recommend program changes or modifications as required.
- Perform home assessments and assist patients with the transition to home and community.
