Recreational Therapist (CTRS)-Part-Time
About The Position
Collage Home and Community Rehabilitation Partners is seeking experienced Therapeutic Recreation Specialists to provide patient-centered neurological rehabilitation in the The Woodlands, Texas area. The part-time role provides care to patients in their homes and communities, where interdisciplinary teams develop integrated treatment plans and therapists use a variety of activities to address functional goals. The organization treats traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, CVAs, and other neurological or complex orthopedic diagnoses. Care is individualized and evidence-based, with services spanning the continuum from severe brain injury to job readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
- CTRS designation.
- Excellent planning, organization, writing, and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate with families, professionals, and coworkers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience treating neurologically related disorders.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, treat, and educate neuro-rehabilitation patients.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate recreation activities, functional leisure skills, and leisure education.
- Assess patients’ capabilities, interests, and barriers.
- Monitor patient progress and recommend program changes or modifications as needed.
- Perform home assessments and assist patients with the transition to home and community.
