We collaborate with families and allied professionals to support youth and adults so they can live, work, play and thrive in an inclusive, accessible, and responsive environment. We aim to build an inclusive community that values people with intellectual disabilities. We support people living in more than 50 homes throughout Winnipeg. People at DASCH have access to recreational and life skills development. Our DASCHWorks program provides support and opportunities for employment, financial stability, and independence. Specialized professionals offer support in areas such as life skills, behaviour management, nutrition, and mental health. We are known for exceptional service. Requirements

  • Completed Grade 10 in Canada, or you have achieved Level 6 on the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment.
  • A Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s License (Intermediate Stage acceptable).
  • Access to a reliable motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Identify individual needs, abilities, strengths, and interests related to leisure and recreational activities.
  • Research, plan, develop, and facilitate community-based leisure and recreational programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Develop and evaluate assessment protocols for ongoing evaluation of activities.
  • Enrich recreational experiences for participants and address barriers they face.
  • Ensure all activities are safe and align with DASCH’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Promote recreational activities through various mediums.
  • Encourage participation of all individuals who attend recreational activities.
  • Collect, evaluate, and provide statistical reporting.
  • Serve as a positive role model for staff, individuals and the community.
