The Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational activities, including sports, fitness classes, and arts and crafts. All activities are developed and coordinated in collaboration with the Client Care Coordinator, Social Service Manager, and/or the Shelter Director. This role involves working directly with a special population and requires sensitivity to their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The employee must perform well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. The employee shall be responsible for the planning and execution of activities that are appropriate for the participants’ age group. Additionally, the employee will ensure the safety and welfare of all program participants throughout scheduled activities.
