Responsible for delivering quality patient care and providing excellent customer service. Provides therapeutic, recreational and leisure activities to patients, including the development of individual treatment plans. Documents patient assessment, participation in group activities, and progress toward goals. The Recreation Therapist, within the scope of their license, must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide service appropriate to behavioral health age groups according to chronological age, developmental age, and/or psychosocial maturity. The primary function is to facilitate the development or maintenance of physical, social, emotional, cognitive and behavioral skills in the patient population served.
