Midwest Center for Youth and Families, a subsidiary of UHS, has been operating since 1997, providing psychiatric treatment to youth across the country for various mental health issues. It is a fully accredited, 74-bed private residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. The center is dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality behavioral healthcare services through its full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents aged 10-18 who face emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Additionally, the Patriot Support Program at Midwest Center offers specialized treatment for the behavioral health needs of children of active-duty military, reserve, and national guard members. As a Recreation Therapist, you will utilize your professional training to deliver appropriate treatment to patients and their families. This role involves collaborating with a transdisciplinary team to complete patient assessments, formulate and implement individualized recreational goals, provide and coordinate therapeutic recreation programming, and manage cases in conjunction with the DBT programming model.
