About The Position
The Recreation Therapist Assistant at Mervyn Sharp Bennion Veterans Home supports veterans’ well-being and quality of life through meaningful therapeutic recreation, social engagement, and programming that promotes independence. The role involves planning and leading activities, assessing residents, helping develop individualized recreation plans, and working with an interdisciplinary team to support resident goals. The position is full-time in Payson, Utah, with pay of $19.00–$21.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy.
- Current Utah recreational therapy license and national certification (TRS, CTRS, or equivalent).
- CPR certification.
- Valid Utah driver’s license.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Creative, dependable, and resident-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead therapeutic recreation activities that support resident well-being.
- Conduct resident assessments and help develop individualized recreation plans.
- Facilitate engaging group and individual activities.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident goals and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participation records.
- Help create meaningful experiences that enhance residents’ quality of life.
