Recreation Therapist
About The Position
Liberty Healthcare is hiring a Recreation Therapist for its secure residential mental health program at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility in Rushville, Illinois. This is an onsite position supporting clients through individual and group recreation therapy. The schedule is full-time on weekdays, with the option to work four 10-hour days per week. The starting salary range is $58,000 to $64,000, depending on experience and certification status. Benefits include 240 hours of paid time off annually for vacation, sick, and personal time, plus 10 paid holidays; health, dental, and vision insurance; an FSA; and a 401(k).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy.
- CTRS certification or eligibility for certification.
Responsibilities
- Interact with clients individually and in groups.
- Conduct interest assessments.
- Design and lead prosocial activities.
- Collaborate with other recreation therapists and mental health professionals.
