The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Recreation Manager in the planning of family activities, corporate group recreation and annual events as well as assisting in the child care services provided on property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), some college or technical schooling and a minimum of 3 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification preferred, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Recreation, Hospitality, or a related area.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • This position involves driving a company vehicle and/or company insured vehicle. A valid driver’s license is required, along with successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines. Follow safe, defensive driving practices at all times, obey all traffic laws, regulations, signals and markings, use a seat belt, and follow Company policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy. Never drive while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, report any accidents immediately and cooperate fully with insurance claims investigations.
  • Assist with payroll processing and scheduling of part time and seasonal staff
  • Supervision of Carolina Pool and seasonal staff
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate recreational programs, activities, and special events.
  • Attend group meetings and functions to speak about Recreation or the history of Pinehurst.
  • Responsible for setting up various aspects of group recreation activities, including transportation, demonstrations, reservations, decorations, supplies, etc.
  • Assist in developing and implementing additional activities and ideas for family holiday weekends and special events.
  • Must report on a regular basis to the Recreation Manager on all important issues concerning, participants, members, guests and all other concerns in general.
  • Must be proficient in computer skills to include: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and others.
  • Attend all appropriate departmental meetings.
  • Attend Operations Meetings in absence of the Recreation Manager.
  • Provide new ideas for holiday décor.
  • Prepare and track budget and revenues for the Recreation Department.
  • Work to enhance guest experience so that each guest becomes a repeat guest.
  • Assist in administrative duties and financial organization for the Recreation Department.
  • Conduct tours for groups of areas including Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Cameron, Seagrove and other local areas .
  • Works inside in an office setting and outdoors
