About The Position

This position oversees the daily operations of the therapeutic recreation program. It involves developing short- and long-term goals, monitoring the use of budgeted funds and capital, and managing personnel. The role also includes conducting staff meetings, building relationships with community organizations, researching and implementing new programs, and transporting participants. The supervisor will report on progress to their supervisor and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge of the principles and practices of budgetary administration.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of therapeutic recreational programming.
Skill in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Skill in problem-solving and decision-making.
Skill in management and supervision.
Skill in operating standard office equipment including work-related computer applications.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Leisure Management, Business Management, or related field.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible related experience, or any combination of education, training, and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Conducts regular staff meetings to discuss issues relevant to the therapeutic recreation program.
Identifies and develops relationships with relevant community organizations.
Researches and implements new therapeutic recreation programs.
Arranges meetings with supervisor to report on progress and to receive feedback.
Transports participants to and from assigned program sites in a passenger van.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
