About The Position

The Santa Rosa Rancheria is accepting applications for a Program Assistant Supervisor in the Recreation Department. This position involves coordinating and implementing recreational programs for youth and adults, managing supplies and equipment, assisting staff, ensuring appropriate behavior, documenting incidents, delegating tasks, transporting participants, training staff, and performing other related duties. The role requires adherence to company policies and procedures, particularly regarding vehicle use for transportation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid California Driver License.
  • Must be insurable through the company's carrier and maintain throughout employment.
  • Must obtain a Class B License (15-Passenger Van) within the 90-day introductory period and maintain throughout employment.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification and maintain throughout employment, or able to obtain within 90-day introductory period.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in liberal arts, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Sociology, or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with youth and adults in a recreation setting, including supervisory experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience working with youth and adults in a recreation setting, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the planning and implementation of a variety of recreational indoor/outdoor program activities for youth and adults at the tribal community center facility.
  • Maintains and inventories all supplies and materials for indoor/outdoor activities.
  • Orders equipment and supplies with director's approval.
  • Assists staff with activities from time to time as needed.
  • Encourages appropriate behavior from all who participate at the center or outings.
  • Documents and maintains records of incident reports as needed for parents and Recreation Director.
  • Delegates duties for general organization of supplies, equipment, and light cleaning of Recreations Multi-Purpose/Universal Game, Video, Teen, Kids Rooms, Vans and any other designated area in the course of an activity or project.
  • Transports participants to and from events, outings, and programs.
  • Follows policy and procedures for use of vehicles for transportation of youth and adult program participants.
  • Trains and supports staff and provides constructive criticisms and coaching as needed.
  • Writes and develops job performances, conducts weekly staff meetings, and monthly safety meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as deemed necessary.
  • Drives company vehicles or personal vehicle to conduct business on behalf of the Recreation Department.
