About The Position

The Arts Center is seeking a creative, organized, and energetic Recreation Program Specialist to manage educational programs and a volunteer community. This role is central to the Arts Center's programming, involving the management of classes, volunteer inspiration, and providing high-quality experiences for artists of all ages. This part-time position is ideal for someone with a background in visual or fine arts who enjoys public interaction and wishes to make a significant community impact.

Requirements

  • Practical experience with visual or fine arts programming.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a knack for excellent customer service.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, Publisher, Adobe Creative Suite, and registration software.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in parks and recreation administration, fine arts or related field. A minimum of four years of practical experience shall be considered an equivalent to a four-year degree.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in the arts.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience is a huge plus!
  • Experience in RecTrac and Canva preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in implementing and managing a diverse lineup of Arts Center programs for adults, youth, families, and special events.
  • Recruiting, coordinating, and overseeing an enthusiastic team of volunteers who help keep our programs running smoothly.
  • Researching current art trends, evaluate existing programs, and recommend adjustments to boost community participation.
  • Manage class rosters, plan schedules, and prep materials for all of our educational programs.
  • Provide excellent, friendly customer service (in-person and over the phone), handle program registrations, manage ticket sales, and track program supplies.
  • Maintain precise records for attendance, class participation, and in-kind donations, and prepare twice-weekly financial deposits.
  • Assist with marketing of programs.
  • Maintains program supply inventories, keeping the appropriate supplies on hand for all programs.
  • Responsible for preparing twice weekly deposits by balancing cash receipts and delivering paperwork and deposits.
  • Performs other routine duties as assigned.
