The purpose of this classification is to perform manual work associated with projects within the Parks & Recreation Department. This role assists with maintaining County Parks and Facilities, and when instructed, select right-of-way County roads, sidewalks, and walkways. The employee follows safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors the work environment to ensure the safety of other employees and the public. If operational tempo dictates, the employee may be asked to operate or assist with other projects located both on and off of the right of way. This may include the operation of a variety of light equipment, machinery, and tools. The role also involves locating underground utilities, performing minor routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, and communicating with supervisors and other individuals to coordinate work activities.
