About The Position

This position involves performing unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in grounds and maintenance activities, as well as building maintenance and janitorial duties at Recreation facilities. The role requires working in various weather conditions, including weekends and holidays if necessary, and representing the Recreation Department and Property Owners Association (POA) positively. A thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, and POA policies is expected, along with the ability to perform minor mechanical adjustments on landscape equipment. Driving a POA vehicle or personal vehicle for POA business may be required. Regular attendance is essential.

Requirements

  • Requires ability to operate and maintain landscape power equipment and tractor lawn mowers.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Requires a valid Arkansas drivers license and a clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in a variety of grounds and maintenance activities such as mowing, weeding, trimming, and swimming pool maintenance.
  • Perform building maintenance and janitorial duties at all Recreation facilities.
  • Work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays if necessary.
  • Represent the Recreation Department and the Property Owners Association (POA) in a positive, friendly and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment using proper safety equipment and techniques.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of rules and regulations and POA policies in all areas of responsibilities.
  • Perform minor mechanical and adjustments on all landscape equipment.
  • May be required to drive POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Regular attendance is required.
