About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Recreation Department in the implementation and coordination of gym activity, leagues and programming. The Recreation League Assistant will assist in organizing, planning, and coordinating Recreational activities as directed by the Recreation Coordinator. This may require preparation or cleaning of equipment and facilities for various sports such as soccer, flag football, basketball, ultimate frisbee, pickleball and other sporting activities.

Requirements

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License
• First Aid and CPR/AED
• Blood borne Pathogen Training
• Safe from Harm (Child Safety Training)
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Fitness, Health and Fitness, Exercise and Fitness, Sports Management, Sports Psychology or other equivalent degree
• Two years of experience working in a gymnasium and/or sports league setting
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assists and works under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the recreation program and its facilities including the daily, monthly, and yearly maintenance of the gym, multisport court, outdoor fields, and playground.
• Enforces all rules that pertain to the gym, outdoor recreation and facility on a constant basis
• Assists with any set-up or break down of equipment for Kroc programs
• Assists as needed in the gym and outdoor recreation, providing direct over-site of programs
