About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Recreation Department in the implementation and coordination of gym activity, leagues, and programming. The Recreation League Assistant will help organize, plan, and coordinate recreational activities as directed by the Recreation Coordinator. This may involve preparing or cleaning equipment and facilities for various sports such as soccer, flag football, basketball, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, and other sporting activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Fitness, Health and Fitness, Exercise and Fitness, Sports Management, Sports Psychology or other equivalent degree.
• Two years of experience working in a gymnasium and/or sports league setting.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
• First Aid and CPR/AED.
• Blood borne Pathogen Training.
• Safe from Harm (Child Safety Training).

Responsibilities

• Assists and works under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator.
• Assists in the day-to-day operations of the recreation program and its facilities, including the daily, monthly, and yearly maintenance of the gym, multisport court, outdoor fields, and playground.
• Enforces all rules that pertain to the gym, outdoor recreation, and facility on a constant basis.
• Assists with any set-up or break down of equipment for Kroc programs.
• Assists as needed in the gym and outdoor recreation, providing direct oversight of programs.
