About The Position

The City of Lathrop is seeking a part-time Recreation Leader for its Facilities Division. This entry-level support role assists recreation staff in implementing a wide variety of recreation classes and programs, with a focus on general custodial duties and facility-related concerns. The ideal candidate will be highly dependable, attentive, and capable of multitasking. Lathrop is a rapidly growing city in the Northern San Joaquin Valley, conveniently located near major interstates and within a short commute of several other cities. The department serves a growing population, with estimates showing continued significant growth.

Requirements

Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Recreation Leader.
Possess the equivalent of one year of experience implementing recreation programs or events.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provides assistance to customers inquiring about or using City facilities.
Monitors facility rentals and classes.
Answers phones and directs the public.
Performs routine custodial duties such as sweeping, scrubbing, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, removing waste materials and garbage, and vacuuming carpets.
Monitors the facility during the duration of scheduled rental periods, scheduled classes or city programs.
Ensures compliance with all facility rules and regulations.
Anticipates and resolves issues quickly.
Sets up and prepares tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for programs or scheduled activities.
Assist renters, visitors, and instructors with equipment setup/function and general service requests.
May be required to routinely assist supervision of programs or facilities.
