About The Position

The Recreation Leader assists athletic staff with the daily operations of athletic programs and events. The role provides customer service, supports athletic events and facilities, and helps ensure that staff and participants follow Concord Parks and Recreation policies and procedures. Work may include support at race events, Lake Fisher boat rentals, McInnis Pool, and other facilities.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the principles, rules, materials, and equipment requirements of various recreational activities.
• Knowledge of the philosophy and objectives of public recreation, personal health, and hygiene.
• Knowledge of first aid practices and techniques.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize and assign work.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to operate a computer and applicable software applications.
• Ability to apply local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions.
• Ability to resolve disputes impartially.
• Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information, give routine instructions, and receive work direction.
• Applicants must meet the City criteria for an acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with inquiries, registrations, and payments.
• Ensure site supervisors, referees, coaches, and scorekeepers adhere to Concord Parks and Recreation policies and procedures.
• Assist with crowd management.
• Provide support as needed at athletic events and facilities, including race events, Lake Fisher boat rentals, and McInnis Pool.
• Perform other similar duties as required.
