Recreation Leader - Sports (Part-time)
About The Position
The Recreation Leader is an entry-level support position responsible for assisting recreation staff in the implementation of a wide variety of recreation sports programs. This role also involves general custodial and facility-related duties. The ideal candidate should be high-energy, dependable, attentive, and capable of multitasking. The City of Lathrop is a growing city located in the Northern San Joaquin Valley, strategically positioned near major interstates and within a short commute to various cities and natural attractions. The city is experiencing significant population growth, anticipating reaching approximately 70,000 residents.
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Recreation Leader.
- One year of experience implementing recreation programs or events.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assists in monitoring and leading recreational activities
- Participates in programs including coaching, score keeping and officiating youth sports
- Communicate effectively with parents, participants and staff
- Answer program related questions and provide excellent customer service
- Routinely assist supervision of programs or facilities
